Why is a car helmet Important?

What should you consider when choosing a Sparco Helmet?
Safety: Prioritize helmets that are certified according to safety standards such as FIA / Snell. These standards ensure that the helmet has undergone rigorous testing to ensure its effectiveness.
Our most popular racing helmet is the Arai gp-6 and in my experience it has the best quality and fit. But our helmets from Bell and Sparco are also very popular & good, comparable to Stilo helmets and Peltor helmets.

If you buy a Sparco helmet, the bracket itself is already mounted from the start, but if you choose a helmet from Arai or Bell, you need to buy your bracket for neck protection separately.
Size guide for helmets:
A helmet should fit snugly and comfortably on your head, often choosing a helmet size that is too large is wrong. The helmet should fit really tight and squeeze your cheeks a little. However, it is important that you feel that the helmet is in contact with the entire head, and not just pressing on the forehead/neck or the temples.
There is quite a difference in shape between the different manufacturers, it is not uncommon for a helmet from Arai to fit you much better than one from Sparco - or vice versa.
If you haven't worn a helmet before, you should try a few different brands to find one that fits your head shape best.
For most helmets it is possible to buy cheek pads in different sizes separately, this allows you to "enlarge" the helmet if you grow and it becomes too tight - a cheaper alternative to buying a new racing helmet!
All FIA / Snell approved helmets have a DD model buckle which is the safest buckle.
Ventilation: Demanding racing makes you quickly warm and sweaty even on cold days - Choose a helmet with a good ventilation system that provides airflow to prevent overheating.
Materials and Construction:
Most helmets are made of a composite material (Mixture between Plastic/Glass fiber/Carbon fiber/Kevlar). These composite helmets are the safest choice for go-karting, as they deform/crack in an accident, instead of bouncing/springing back like plastic helmets can.
Design and Style: In addition to safety and comfort, it is important that you feel comfortable and confident in your helmet. Choose a design and color that suits your personal style.
