Cylinder Gasket Raket 95

The Raket 95 cylinder base gasket is an important component for ensuring that your Raket engine is sealed and works optimally. These gaskets are available in several thicknesses – 0.10 mm, 0.20 mm, 0.30 mm and 0.40 mm – making it possible to fine-tune the engine's performance in a precise and controlled way.

In addition to providing a reliable seal between the cylinder and crankcase, the cylinder base gasket plays a crucial role in adjusting what's known as "squish".

What is squish?
Squish is the distance between the top of the piston and the top of the cylinder when the piston is at its highest point (top dead centre). On a 2-stroke engine, this distance affects how the fuel/air mixture is compressed and combusted. Correct squish gives better power, smoother running and a reduced risk of detonation.

How are the gaskets used?
By choosing different thicknesses of cylinder base gasket, you can adjust the height of the cylinder relative to the piston:

• A thinner gasket reduces the squish distance and increases compression
• A thicker gasket increases the squish distance and reduces compression
• A combination of gaskets can be used for precise adjustment

To achieve the correct squish, the distance is measured using, for example, solder wire placed on top of the piston, after which the engine is rotated. The gasket thickness is then adjusted until the desired measurement is achieved according to the engine manufacturer's recommendations.
