Cylinder Raket 95 MK II
Product description
Cylinder MK II for Raket 95
This cylinder is manufactured in Sweden and launched in 2024 for the Raket 95.
Raket 95 MK II cylinders with the latest production technology, making the cylinders even more consistent and durable than before.
The MK II is directly comparable to the previous cylinders for the Raket 95 - performance is unchanged, and all accessories such as pistons and gaskets fit both versions.
Technology
Die casting:
The previous version of the cylinder was gravity die-cast; a technique where molten aluminium is poured into a mould and the melt is allowed to spread by gravity.
The new MK II cylinder is instead high-pressure die-cast – high-pressure die casting is the most modern technique, where the molten metal is injected into the mould at extremely high pressure (up to 1000 bar)
This means you get exactly the right amount of metal in exactly the right place, every time.
It enables thinner and finer details with great precision - tolerances straight out of the mould are less than 1/10 of a millimetre.
Dual Charge:
The cylinder is fuelled via the intake using a unique dual-charge technology.
Simply explained, the engine uses separate intake channels; the upper channel contains only clean air and is used to flush the exhaust gases out of the cylinder before it draws in the new fuel mixture.
All other two-stroke engines without dual charge use fuel-mixed air for this and therefore unnecessarily flush a large part of the fuel straight out into the exhaust.
Thanks to its DC technology, the MK II cylinder produces significantly less harmful exhaust emissions compared with other engines, it also has markedly lower fuel consumption and is one of the most environmentally friendly two-stroke engines on the market.
Nikasil:
The cylinder bore in the MK II is Nikasil-treated
Nikasil was developed in the 1960s for Porsche's race cars and makes it possible to manufacture cylinders entirely from aluminium without a steel liner.
Through electrolysis, the cylinder bore is plated with silicon carbide, which is many times harder than steel,
Thanks to this, the cylinder becomes extremely wear-resistant, under normal circumstances with a lifespan of hundreds of running hours.
