Rotax E10 - Electric Kart Ready to Race
Product description
Complete race kart with ROTAX E10 – the future of karting, ready to race straight away.
This karting package combines the revolutionary ROTAX E10 electric motor with the professional race chassis CRG Black Mirror. The result is a modern, high-performance and extremely easy-to-drive kart – perfect for young drivers who want to take the step into motorsport with the latest technology.
At the heart of it is the ROTAX E10, a complete electric drive system developed by ROTAX – a world-leading manufacturer of racing engines with over 100 years of experience. The E10 is not just an electric motor, but an entire concept combining performance, durability and ease of use.
With up to 10.5 kW of power and an integrated boost function that temporarily increases power by 40-60%, the E10 delivers the acceleration and driving feel required for real racing. At the same time, the drivetrain is almost silent, completely emission-free and considerably easier to maintain than a traditional combustion engine.
The system is also modular. With one battery, the system runs in Bambini mode (5 kW). By simply installing a second battery, the kart is upgraded to Mini mode (10.5 kW). The driver can therefore progress in the same kart without having to change engine.
The electric system is integrated into the well-established CRG Black Mirror chassis, a CIK-homologated race chassis built from 28 mm chrome-molybdenum steel. The chassis is renowned for its balance, stability and high quality – making it the perfect platform for the Rotax E10 system.
With components such as the CRG VEN12 brake system, magnesium rims and fully adjustable geometry, the driver gets a chassis that works equally well for training and competition.
The result is a complete, modern and future-proof kart – ready to drive straight away.
ROTAX E10 – lower cost from the very first season
A common question is whether an electric kart really ends up cheaper than a traditional kart with a combustion engine. When you calculate over the whole season, the answer is clear: the ROTAX E10 can often pay for itself as early as the first year.
The reason is simple. A petrol engine requires fuel, oil, servicing, wear parts and regular engine rebuilds. With an electric kart, almost all of these costs disappear. The result is more track time and significantly lower running costs.
| Typical season cost | ROTAX E10 | Traditional kart engine |
|---|---|---|
| Energy/fuel | ≈ SEK 500 | ≈ SEK 5,000 – 10,000 |
| Engine and carburettor servicing | ≈ SEK 0 | ≈ SEK 7,000 – 18,000 |
| Oil, spark plugs, wear parts | ≈ SEK 0 | ≈ SEK 3,000 – 6,000 |
| Total running cost/season | ≈ 500 | ≈ SEK 15,000 – 34,000 |
In other words, the difference in running cost can be SEK 34,000 or more per season per engine.
When running a combustion engine, you usually also need spare engines and carburettors, as the calculation above only shows the servicing costs for one engine
Purchase price – electric kart vs. traditional race kart
When comparing the purchase price of an electric kart with a traditional petrol kart, it's important to compare the whole system. In many racing classes, drivers use at least two engines – a race engine and a spare engine. This means the actual investment is often significantly higher than you might first think.
| Purchase cost | ROTAX E10 Kart | Mini 60 petrol kart |
|---|---|---|
| Chassis | Included in the package | ≈ SEK 40,000 |
| Engine | Included | ≈ SEK 40,000 |
| Spare engine | Not normally needed | ≈ SEK 40,000 |
| Battery system | Included | – |
| Total investment | ≈ SEK 135,000 | ≈ SEK 120,000 |
The difference in purchase price is therefore relatively small. When you also factor in the lower running costs of the ROTAX E10 – no fuel, no engine rebuilds and minimal maintenance – the investment can often be paid back as early as the first season.
The service life of the Rotax engine package is extremely long, and service intervals are practically non-existent, since none are needed at all.
This means the extra cost of an electric kart is often earned back as early as the first year – while you also get a more modern, quieter and lower-maintenance system.
More track time. Less servicing. Lower cost.
