Arai GPV-R 8859-2024
The Arai GPV-R 8859 is developed with a focus on protection in every detail. The shell has been redesigned to lower the visor attachment, which provides a smoother and rounder upper part. This means that impacts slide off the helmet more easily instead of being transferred straight into the structure.
The GP-VAS visor system is designed to combine a lower pivot point with a full opening without touching the shell. The design improves the helmet's ability to absorb energy according to FIA test requirements. The highest point of the visor has also been lowered by 17 mm compared to the previous model, which provides a larger smooth surface above.
The field of vision is adjusted by lowering the bottom edge of the opening. This provides a better overview of instruments and controls, with approximately 8 mm of additional downward field of vision without affecting the level of protection.
The visor has a centered lock that locks clearly and can be operated from both sides. The design is easy to use even with gloves.
Inside, the helmet has a removable interior that improves airflow and makes cleaning easier. The fit can be adjusted by removing layers of foam, up to two sizes.
The cheek pads have been redesigned to simplify microphone installation. An opening in the material makes cable routing smooth and discreet. It is also possible to further adjust the field of vision by removing parts of the comfort foam.
The ventilation has been updated with air intakes moved 15 mm forward compared to the previous design. This provides better airflow without affecting the helmet's protective properties. The helmet is also prepared for fluid systems without the need for modification.
