Screw studs is exactly as the name suggests, a stud that is screwed into whatever you want to improve your grip on for the winter. 
Mainly used for different types of tires, but screw studs are also suitable for rubber tracks, shoes, snowmobile mats and anything else similar where you need better grip on in snow and ice. 
We have developed this specific stud here ourselves to get a suitable grip for all types of ice racing with 4-wheeled vehicles. 
As this stud is pointed and extremely hard, it is not recommended for vehicles that will be driven on garage floors/asphalt as this can damage the surface, then you should instead use our flat HM15 stud which is a conventional screw stud. 
But if you ride a go-kart, quad or a car on the ice and want a nice grip that is manageable but at the same time is good for riding wide with, then these screw studs PR are absolutely perfect!
The screw stud has a sharp tip made of tungsten (extremely hard material) which protrudes 3.5mm, together with the protrusion of the hexagonal part you’ll get about 6mm total penetration. 
We recommend between 40-70 screw studs per tire, depending on how much power your vehicle has and how much grip you are looking for.
The stud is easily mounted using a screwdriver and the included tool. 
It is important that you have good downward pressure with the machine when you screw, and that you stop the screwdriver quickly and distinctly when the stud is properly screwed in, otherwise you risk tearing the rubber threads that the screw creates. You do not need to pre-drill before assembly and it is only very powerful (60hp+) vehicles where you should also glue the screw head with Loctite 480.
