Rally equipment

Driving a rally requires a lot of rally equipment and safety gear. Having your own driver's equipment with gear that is fireproof and FIA-approved is a good investment in your own safety.

Racing equipment must protect you in the event of an accident, so the requirements are high, including flame retardancy. For racing, the overalls should be comprehensive with CE-approved protection and sturdy gloves and shoes. In addition, there are shoes with high shafts (preferably racing shoes), gloves, support collar and helmet of course. A rally overall approved according to competition rules is available in many different designs.

The listed rally equipment are standard requirements for rally competitions but some other items can be useful as supplements:

Balaclavas and base layers, provide extra fire protection and help keep your helmet and overalls looking good for longer.

A darker coloured visor for the helmet can be useful for sunny days

Other things to consider are the weight of the helmet, try to stay under 1600g

Keep the colour

Sure there are rally overalls available at low prices but think about safety. The colour of the overall should be comfortable too. If you don't like lots ofcolours, you won't drive well in such an outfit.

The rally overall is a part of you as a driver in the long run. If you like the car, the racing equipment and the clothes, you drive better.
